So as apart of my pre-employment process, I had to take a drug test yesterday a Quest Diagnostics. For anyone who knows me, I can pee pretty much every hour on the hour - not so much yesterday. I was freaking out! I don't do drugs at all, but holy crap was I scared out of my mind to take the test.
Only once in my life have I had to take a pee in a cup test, and that was 2 jobs ago. No biggie. So I get there, fill out the paperwork, then I meet this lady, she tells me my purse is too big to fit in their little box - duh, and we tuck it in a filing cabinet, then I grab the plastic cup and she says I have to pee to some certain line. They shut off the water, and the toilet water was blue. She said people do all kinds of things with a drug test to not fail it. Well, thinking I could just pee and be done - I had stopped at Sonic prior for a Cranberry Limeade - since we all know cranberry juice makes you pee.
So, get there, door closed, and I can't pee. I'm flipping out. I finally muster enough out which I think is close enough to the line - and I walked out and showed the lady - she said it was enough...thank god!
I was so worried because Thursday I got a rash all over my check, neck and face. I had something similar right when we moved into the house, so I wasn't sure what it was. Going through my mind the only thing I could think of was new chlorine in the hot tub. Other than that, nothing new product wise on my end. I was dying the night before the test for a benadryl hoping that the rash would go away, and I'd be okay. Then I began research on the internet - apparently Benadryl can sometimes show up as a false positive on a drug test! Shit. Well, I called about 5 people for their expert opinion and most said I would be okay. I didn't want to take any chances.
So now, my results are sitting over at Edward Jones for review on Tuesday morning when everyone returns. I know it's clear, but I think I just like stressing myself out...haha.

New Job - New Outlook
So after going to a very interesting interview on Tuesday, and kind of stressed out and bummed about my unemployment situation, I get a phone call around 5:15 from Edward Jones with a job offer!!! I accepted on the spot, because I knew it was the job for me! I'm so excited. So, offically, I will be a Financial Advisor Hiring Specialist - how important does that sound - contigent upon my drug and background check - but that shouldn't be a problem.
I'm starting on June 9th, so I have a couple of weeks of vacation still. I guess all around, it's not too bad - I really get a 3 week paid vacation. Not too shabby! I'm even more excited that I get to go to Florida next Friday and hang out with my dad for a whole week. My plane ticket was relatively inexpensive on such short notice - only $304!
I think starting the new job, the only big hurdle is going to be the professional dress code. That means - MORE SHOPPING!!! Gee - twist my arm, but I got coupons in the mail today for my favorite store! Things are looking up!
