The Casa de Cowan are big books readers. I can say that every night we are reading a book, magazine or some form of reading takes place. I think at the end of the day, reading a book is going to enrich your mind so much more than watching TV or playing a video game. I think Cheerios agrees too.
The Cheerios family of cereals, First Book and Jon Scieszka, author of the popular “Trucktown” series and other children’s books, have joined together to deliver 100,000 books to community-based programs serving children in need – and we’d love your help! All you have to do is go online with your child and test your combined knowledge of children’s books by answering trivia questions related to “Trucktown” and other great children’s books.
For every trivia question answered correctly, you can cast one vote for the state you would like to receive books. The five states receiving the most votes will get 20,000 books each, for a total of 100,000 books. Visit www.FirstBook.org/Scieszka to test your knowledge and start voting.
My Blog Spark has joined forces with Cash Cowan to offer 1 lucky reader a 100,000 Book Giveaway Prize Pack including - an assortment of books from Cheerios, one of the many varieties of Cheerios cereals and a $25 gift card to Barnes & Noble.
Want to win? Here's How:

2nd entry -Follow me on Twitter3rd entry -become a Fan on Facebook
4th entry -Subscribe to Cash Cowan via email or RSS Feed (and leave a comment)
5th entry- Adding my Button to your page and leaving me a comment with the link

If you have already completed any of these - leave a comment for each one you've completed to win!
Contest Ends December 17th - Winner Announced December 18th!
Cheerios provided me with the information and prize packs through MyBlogSpark. I was given a prize pack, however, this did not alter my personal views on Cheerios

ReplyDeleteI live in Illinois and we need 20,00 books because of our former governor. He squandered a lot of funds that would go towards things like that on weird stupid stuff, like pay raises for his cronies.

Mississippi should win because as of 1998, the five states with the lowest literacy rates are (in order) Mississippi, Lousiana, Alabama, Florida, and South Carolina.
ReplyDeletemisskaitlin24 AT hotmail.com

ReplyDeleteI think Missouri should win because 17% of adults in Missouri score in the lowest of five levels of literacy and face life with few options and 950,000 Missourians age 16 and older (28%) do not have a high school diploma.

ReplyDeleteThe failure of the State legislature to pass a budget for Pennsylvania means that while the Free Library remains open, there is the likelihood that a severe funding cut will be made in our State appropriation. This would critically hamper the Free Library’s ability to purchase new books, DVDs, CDs, databases, newspapers, magazines, and more.

ReplyDeleteCalifornia is such a large state, most of our libraries do book readings for young children, as well as our B & N's, we need to add more books for the children's enjoyment and to broaden their horizens, so to speak.

The State of Oklahoma should get the 20,000 books because we rank 50th in teacher pay and it would be a little less that we as teachers would have to spend out of our own pockets in order to have what is needed in our classrooms. I would also like the opportunity to help distribute these books.
