For Halloween, I was a procrastinator and had to get the random last bag of the $2.49 candy at Target – which happened to be Dots (one of my personal favs) and Mike & Ikes. Don’t forget the $9 on a jumbo bag of chocolate, too. When I got home my husband started rummaging through the candy looking for the good stuff. He came cross the Mike & Ikes with his nose turned up and quickly stated how much he hated them.
Fast forward to a week later the only candy left are 3 Musketeers and (you guessed it) Mike & Ikes. After a good boohooing hour of Grey’s Anatomy, Jeff was looking for a treat. I told that turned up nose from a week ago to just try the Mike & Ikes. And what did you know….he realized they weren’t junior mint – the thing he really didn’t like. After an entire week of stomping around talking about how much he hated those little green boxes, he proceeded to take a few boxes down to the man cave to watch his hockey game.
I had to take a step back and laugh about the Mike & Ikes. He absolutely hated them, but he had never tried them. I think about a lot with my blog. There are so many websites out there, coupons, mommy blogs, product review blogs – you name it. I know when I read other people sites, I love learning about people and how they see the world. It is their opportunity to share their knowledge with the world.
For all my readers, thanks for trying me, the Mike & Ike. I know I’m still a newbie only 3 months in. I still feel like that lone Mike & Ike at the bottom of the candy bowl and you chose me. I know that were are so many options out there, but you value and trust my opinion and resources when it comes to great deals and saving money.
I have taken a step back and reassessed my perspective with Cash Cowan. I wanted to be the one stop shop for all things discount. I know that with my time constraints, I won’t be able to do that. For now, I want to focus on what I know and what I feel I'm good at. Going forward, I will be putting together a weekly schedule of what to expect including a weekly editorial, Mall Coupons, Utterly Ridiculous Freebies and the NEW Health & Beauty Freebies, Product Reviews Walgreens, Target and of course Giveaways ( I can’t forget about those). In time, I hope to increase my reach and abilities to other areas of the St. Louis metro area and beyond. For now, it’s just me, and for now, this is what I love and what I’m passionate about. Let’s start here, and build from there.
Thank you for letting me share my passion with you.
