Prepping for Florida!!!

So, on Wednesday, Jeff and I will be off to visit my Dad and go to Spring Training for a short 6 day visit. I really feel like I lose a whole day traveling since we don't get a direct flight - which annoys me (Damn Delta and the ATL Airport!!) So in prep, I decided to go shopping with my BFF.

I went shopping with Melissa and her Momma. We went to the Coach at Chesterfield and after being highly unimpressed, went to Frontenac. Melissa walked away with an amazing hot pink crocodile bag, and I got these pretty ladies..

Apparently, they are sold out everywhere, no where in St. Louis. The nice gal had to call like 5 stores to finally find a pair that was not the pair that was on the floor since I didn't want them all stretched out. Makes sense. So, they won't be here for Florida, so they are being sent to Melissa's so no one steals them why we are away

I also got this cute little dress at Aerie. I'm debating if it's going to be a swim coverup or a dress. I think it'd be cute with a little jean jacket and flip flops or a white jacket.

All I need to do is learn how to use my camera that I got for Christmas, and then we'll be ready for Florida! Tomorrow we are going to the zoo so I can practice taking photos with the new camera and the lenses.

Shoe Dazzle - March

So, I got my March picks from Shoe Dazzle. While I like Billie and loved Marchesa - I just know they are WAY too high for me. So, I opted for round 2 of shoes. I requested something with a mid-heel and in a color for spring.

Marie Claire Style Council

So, a while back, it seems like the summer, I entered my name into the hat to be a member of the Marie Clair Style Council. They were looking for stylish gals who like to share their opinions and host parties in their market- sounded like me! So, I filled out the initial application. Done. Then I get an email - made it to round 2 - score - This was a VERY long and drawn out application that took me about an hour to fill out. They wanted to know my favorite nail color, style icon and yadda yadda. It was forever long.  So, I submitted that and patiently waited.

My friend Kate, used to work at Redbook, which is owned by Hearst who owns Marie Claire. She did a little bit of leg work and found out who the person in charge of the whole interviewing process and put in a good work for me.

And I waited. Until Friday, when I got an email that I made it to ROUND 3!!!! This time, they wanted a 1-2 minute video of myself as to why I would be a good fit as a Marie Clair Style Council. I'd like to think of myself as a pretty outgoing gal. But I froze. Terrified of what to day! How can I say how fantastic I am in less than 2 minutes????

So, here it is...I goofed with saying some stuff backwards, - but I think that adds to the "Real Jen". Ya think?

10 lb photo - 199!

So, as I mentioned when I first started blogging on Jen vs. Jenny - I wanted to post pictures every 10 lbs I lost. Well, I'm 2 lbs behind, but I wanted to get it up. This is me at 198. I'm not wearing the best outfit, but I was trying to get Jeff to take the picture while he's doing all kinds of stuff today.

I'm gonna have to say, this is one of my favorite outfits for errand running - and I know horizontal stripes not the most figure flattering, but I wear them with suede Steve Madden flats and I'm hip and with it.

I usually wear anywhere between a 9 and 9 1/2 and usally a wide shoe - let me tell you, these guys are PERFECT! I was so excited. The detail with the rhinestones and pearls are perfection. Perfect for spring and all my pencil skirts and 3/4 length oxfords! Hurray - Shoe Dazzle Success!!
