Ahhh, George Clooney

So, it seems like I'm only watching George Clooney movies in the past 24 hours. Last night I grilled steak for Jeff, and I got so sick, I couldn't eat the steak. I thought I could, but heavy food sounds so gross to me right now. I've been eating soup, frozen yogurt, and crackers. After we had dinner last night, we watched Up in the Air. It was super good. I'm watching Leatherheads now. We are in the process of watching all the Oscar nominee movies.

We subscribe to Netflix with the 2 at a time. Right now Jeff has Star Trek, but I saw that on the cruise in Sept. Next, we'll be getting te Blindside. That looks super good.

I am meeting with the Surgeon on Friday morning. So hopefully it really will be a Good Friday. Jeff is going with me, and hopefully they will give me a date to do the surgery. I've had really strong pressure in my chest and upper abdominal pain from about 2-4 everyday and then again before I go to bed. It's the strangest thing. I figured out that chocolate makes it worse.

On the docket for this weekend is cleaning up the house. I'm "Spring Cleaning" and trying to toss out a lot of stuff. I'm also going to put a bunch of things up on Craiglist - I'm trying to get $370 to get these prints for over our bed. I'm in the process of redecorating our bedroom, and this is what I want to base the whole look on.

and then add 2 of these chairs for a sitting area and Jeff is going to make a coffee table to go inbetween.

All I need is to find a solid colored bedspread that is either blue or red so then I can add some pops of color for throw pillows.  The good thing is our basement is a treasure chest - my dad left all kinds of things behind - so I think I've got 3 lamps, 2 TV's (the big non-flat panel ones, but still in good condition) and a few other things to get posted. Hopefully I can make some money this weekend!

Gallbladder - See Ya Later!

So, I went in this morning for my Ultrasound - let me say, if you are in the St. John's Network, the Imaging center on Highway K is fantastic. I got there 15 mins early, got in and out by 9:05 - and my appointment was at 9!  I like to chit chat with the tech, and I was just inquiring about where parts are on my body. I could tell she was doing some serious thinking even recorded sound. She then told me that they would probably call me tomorrow afternoon.

So, I didn't think anything of it, went to work, just in time to make it to DAP and learned all about LGBTQIA. Whew - long acronym. It was very informative and I learned a lot. So I got back to my desk around 12:30 and I had 2 missed calls - both from my doctor. Dr. Hunt left a voicemail saying that she needed me to go to a surgeon ASAP - but if it started to flare up to go to the emergency room ASAP. I started to flip out a little, but from the people that I know who have gotten their gallbladder removed were out for about a week.

So, I talked to the nurse at the office and she said she put in the referral and the surgeon's office will call for a consultation and discuss next steps. I need to get it completed in the next 2 weeks because I start studying for the series 7 in 1 month. Eek!

So, to cheer myself up, I went online shopping - and I had 2 $10 reward coupons, free shipping and a 40% off coupon. So, I got an $80 dress from Banana Republic for $27 - I love getting new items for super cheap! So, I should hear tomorrow about next steps, but I'll be a gallbladder lighter very soon!

Gorgeous Day!

I got in my car at 4:50 and it was 75 degrees outside. Whoo hoo! I think my favorite season is spring. I went to Walgreens and got a thank you card for my grandparents for letting us visit last week, and a stick lighter for the grill and went for round 2 for my prescription. I called the doctor this morning and they wanted me to try something different. Once I got to the back of the store, the nice girl told me that the prescription had to be pre-authorized by insurance. Crap.

She looked at my old Prevacid script and said, "You know the over the counter is 1/2 the dose of the one from yesterday".

"So, I can just take 2, right?"

"In theory, yes, but you didn't hear it from me...oh and here's a coupon for $5 off."

So, I bought a box, and we'll see what happens. I'll call the doctor in the morning just to confirm it's okay, but I'm sure it will be.

So, I came home, sat on the patio and skimmed the Crate & Barrel outdoor catalogue and grilled some burgers - minus the bun for me because I read the package. 320 calories for a Pretzel Roll - No thank you!

I'm so excited because I get to get my ultrasound tomorrow at 9am. Whoo hoo! I have Diversity Awareness Program, so I hope I don't miss much.  It's so fascinating to learn how to be a leader and step up and make people mindful of diversity.

The Doctor Said...Drum Roll....

Welp, we're going to the play the "Let's rule everything out game". Gah.

I told her my symptoms and what had been going on and she wanted to look at my gallbladder, so I will be doing an ultrasound, and then a Hida Scan. Now, the only problem is that it takes some time to get it all scheduled. I have to go through central "booking" scheduling. So, that can take a couple of days, then schedule, then get results. So, this could take a couple of weeks.

So, I'll be waiting patiently. I was given the ultra strength Prevacid at the Dr's office, and then I go to Walgreens and they tell me that insurance doesn't cover it because it is now sold over the counter. Gross. Even grosser - $328 for a supply.  AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

So tonight, I hope my husband will go get my ice cream, because after a McFlurry last night I slept like a baby. Whoo hoo!

Bored Out of My Mind!

I am so ready for 8:45 tomorrow morning when I see Dr. Hunt to figure out what is wrong with me. I hope that she says, "Jen, we need to admit you to the hospital ASAP for testing." The thing I hate about the doctor is once I go and a test needs to be done, then the request is sent to central scheduling and then I wait. So the test could take a couple of weeks, then a couple of days of results. However, if I go to the ER, they will test me, get in out and done for a $75 co-pay.

So, today I went to the mall and as I was walking around the acid reflux attacked. I haven't had a full 8 hours of sleep in 2 weeks, and I'm just ready to be done with it. I got a super cute jacket at Gap. After my 30% off discount, it was only $24. I may need to get it taken it since it's a little big on the bottom, but everything else fit great.

I also went to Trader Joe's and got some fresh cut daffodils and few things for Jeff for the week. I'm going back on Jenny Craig this week, so he'll be fending for himself. So I should have a mini update tomorrow once I go to el doctor - I hope we can get this resolved ASAP.
