Yesterday, Jeff and I went to the surgeon. We got there around 8:45, and I started to get worried. I had watched Grey's Anatomy the night before and there was a gal who went into a coma and didn't wake up. Big mistake for me watching that. Once we got into the room, we waiting about 10 mins and Dr. Meiner, and older gentleman came in. He was the kind of guy I just wanted to give a big hug to. The first thing he said was "Welp, you got a gallbladder full of stones, and it needs to come out."
But then he proceeded to explain how this happens, why it happens and drew a diagram on the back of my chart and offered to get me a real pamphlet with real pictures. Jeff played 20 questions asking if anything would be different if I didn't have a gallbladder. And he then said depending on how I feel, it was up to me on when I wanted to get it removed, but it needed to be sooner than later. No problemo. He also told me that I need to stick to a VERY low fat diet until it comes out. In the diagram - it's the green thing that's coming out. I hope it's not green in my body because every diagram I've seen the damn thing is green.
So, surgery is scheduled for Monday the 12th at 8:40. Jeff is taking the day off and so is my Mom. I told my mom it wasn't necessary that she be there, but she is insisting. I worked this weekend getting the house cleaned up because I know Jeff won't do much while I'm out for a week. I'm hoping to have the surgery on Monday and be back to work by the following Monday, but I've got the buffer of 1-3 days if I need longer. There is a 5% chance that it could be an open surgery depending on what they see when they get in there. If a stone is blocking the entrance or in the canal to my liver (I think) then they'd have to open me up and I'd have to stay in the hospital 2-3 days. So pray for in and out in 1 day.
I go on Thursday for me pre-blood work. My guess is to make sure that I don't have cooties or anything like that. I'll make sure I've got food in the fridge and plenty of ginger ale to make me feel better. Hopefully I can squeeze a haircut in by the end of the week. I'm seriously debating going back to my Dora the explorer bangs.
Thoughts? I'm loving Zooey Deschanel's bang - so similar to those with an angle on the side.
I used to have bangs like this, just a little longer....but I had much longer hair...but you get the idea.
