Rain Delay

Last night Jeff and I went to the Card's game to see them woop up on the Pirates. We pick games from my BFF's season tickets and go to anywhere fom 5-10 games a year. Last night was Vince Coleman bobblehead night, too which I was excited about.

The evening didn't turn out how I planned. We left late, no Vince Coleman for me, then we had a 2 1/2 hour rain delay!  I wanted to leave soooo bad. Jeff wanted to stay.  So, waited next to these 2 kids doing some serious PDA. I made friends with a really nice lady who turned out her husband was a FA, so we talked shop for a while. You always seem to find someone attached to Edward Jones in St. Louis. Crazy!

The whole time we waited, I watched this amazing family. They seemed to happy. They had 2 little girls, which then prompted the question of "When can we have a baby?" Followed by a large eye roll from my husband.

Then at 9:35, they rolled off the tarp and played ball. I don't know if it was the delay or what, but the people that stayed were soo obnoxious! Good thing the game went fast. We left at the top of the 7th and then got home in time to watch them win it in the 10th.

But, whew - I realized I'm not a patient person. Oh well. What are you going to do?

So Maybe I Do Have a Green Thumb

So, over the weekend I was letting Miss Riley Sue out to go potty when I spotted this little engine that could in my flower pot. We got lazy this year. We didn't mulch, and I didn't even buy my usual petunias and put them in the pot. Based on this photo, I didn't even put away containers from last year. My lovely dead petunias are still here from last year. Bad Jen! So I was so surprised when the prettyness made me smile. I guess my Frog Prince was keeping a good eye on my lone little flower.

My Bags are Packed....Almost!

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to talk to my Dad for about an hour, and he's just emotionally not doing so hot. So I decided he needed his most FAAAAAABULOUS Daughter to come down for a visit. So, I was able to get everything squared away at work, and I'll be heading out 2 weeks from tomorrow for a long weekend to hang out with my Dad.

Hopefully, that will help him get out of his funk and I may even get a bit of a tan.

I booked my tickets on USA3000 because apparently the airline industry is really nickeling and diming you. They wanted to charge me $25 for my first checked bag. Luckily, I can fit everything into a weekend bag. Then, they wanted to charge me $9 to pick a seat. WHAT?! So, I didn't pick a seat, I'll take what I can get when I check in on Thursday.

So, now I'm debating if I need a new weekend bag. How cute are these Lilly Pulitzer LeSportSac bags???  GRRR. I have a bunch of auctions closing tonight and the Casa De Cowan Garage sale is in 2 weeks - we'll be rollin' in the Benjamins! Or like $20...ha!

I Need Your Help!

So Jeff and I are at odds about something. Market Research.

I'm a big fan of getting paid to give my opinion.

Yesterday, I got an email to if I pre-qualified for a study where a group of 3-4 people would come into my home and video me for 2 hours about my opinion on complete meal kits - so like Hamburger Helper and things like that.

Today, I get a phone call to say I have qualified. Sweet! So, I'll get paid $300 for a 2 hour interview in my home. Cool.

I called Jeff to tell him about it and he says NO. He doesn't like that some random people would come to our house and interview me. He doesn't feel comfortable with that. He wouldn't need to be involved either.

This is a very reputable marketing firm in St. Louis. I trust them, and I have done many a research study with them in the past. No issues, and they are all Market Research Institute Certified.

So, what should I do - should I go for it, or call back and cancel?

Me being in operation pay off debt mode that would be another card paid off....help!
