Sunday Song!

I love music. I love it so much sometimes I think I missed my calling. So, I will now be introducing Sunday Song. I'll be sharing one of my favorite songs of the week.

This week it's The Big Pink and their song Dominos. My husband makes fun of me for liking songs that are simple and catchy. This one is like that. These guys were signed across the pond back in 2009 and sometimes it takes a while to cross the ocean. I heard about them through listening to Alt Nation on XM Radio.

So enjoy!  I'm going to get a cute little logo thing, and feel free to pass it along and once I get it going, we can do a link up.

My Bedding Drama

Ah, Saturday. What a lovely day. Too bad my fabulous hubby is working today. He has a client coming in on Monday and as a project manager, his team didn't get everything done, so he's there. He worked last night till 9:30 and then back at it this morning at 8.

Last night, I went to a work Happy Hour to wish a colleague well with his transfer to our Tempe office. Then I headed over to have cocktails at Pujols 5 with Jess, Chelsea and Jen. We had a fantastic time. We were out celebrating Chelsea's new job. So, we hung out till about 7:30, and I had to head home to check on Miss Riley Sue. On the way, I stopped to pick up another bedding set. Yes, another! I've ordered 5 bedspreads in the past few months trying to decide what to get.

I finally decided on one, and had my mom had put it on her Kohl's card for a 30% off coupon. So, we just ordered it online. I get the set in the mail on Thursday and it's missing the shams and bed skirt. GRRR! So, thinking it was a fluke, I went and picked up another one last night and was going to return it and take out the missing items. I get home with #2 and it is also missing the shams and bed skirt. What the heck! It is clearly stated on the outside of the package. How cool is this bedding? It's absolutely gorgeous! It goes so well with the chairs that I got a few weeks ago. The best part is that we didn't spend any money - it was all of the money we earned from the Garage Sale back in August. The only thing I need to still get are new curtains and a rod, and then paint. I'll be so excited when the room is complete.

Avington Slipper Chair from Target - it's handy being married to an engineer for assembly.
I'll rent him out to anyone who needs him.

So, I called customer service this morning to express my unhappiness. On top of that, I was able to get a price adjustment too for all the items - I think about a $75 price adjustment too. Sweet! On top of the $60 in Kohl's Cash that I got too.

While Jeff was at work, I opted to go return #2, and was able to use my Kohl's Cash to pick up the 2 throw pillows and this cute dress Vera Wang dress.  This is my first item out of the Vera Wang collection. I think it's rather overpriced, but after my coupon and the Kohl's Cash - i'm thinking ankle boots, black cardigan and black tights and I've got a cute winter outfit. Maybe even my Thanksgiving Day outfit.

So that was my bedding drama for now. Then I went to the mall and got some cute cropped pants for work that were on super sale and my free undies from Victoria Secret. I don't recall the last time I paid for a pair of undies from there. They just keep giving them away! So that was my morning, how was yours?

Missouri Market at the Botanical Gardens

On Sunday, I spent the afternoon with my Mom and step-dad Steve and went to the Missouri Market at the Botanical Gardens. It's the like a big festival with homemade goodies and tasty treats. Mom & Steve are members of the gardens so we got in for free. We decided to go there for lunch. I had heard so much about these Billy Goat Chips that were there. I didn't take a whole lot of photos, but I did get these gorgeous cakes from the Blue Owl. If you haven't been - you need to go! It's deelish!

Me and My Momma.

When we were leaving the gardens we came across a llama in a car. Yes. A llama!

He was just stopping by the garden too. It's not every day you find a llama driving a truck!

Double Date!

Saturday night, Jeff and I went to Growler's Pub to have dinner with our good friends Bryan and Crystal. They were Jeff's friends before we met and they were both in our wedding. We were so excited because after 9 years Bryan FINALLY proposed. I was in Florida when they had their engagement BBQ, so I missed out on hearing the story. So, we met up and had a few beers as it is a pub. Bryan is working on his 2nd beer card - he's tried over 130 beers there. After 4 1/2 hours of good conversation, we came home and went to bed!

Jeff found a new beer. It's the size of a wine bottle - It's a Belgium Beer - it was DEELISH!

Bryan & Crystal

Me! I smell a new Facebook Profile Picture!

For some reason, Crystal and I always share the Cinnamon Apple Nachos for dessert. I rarely get dessert. But like clock work for the past 5 years, we always share them. They are flour tortilla chips covered in cinnamon & sugar, then underneath is a few scoops of vanilla ice cream, and a Guinness Carmel and whipped cream. It is amazing. Everyone must try it.

The funniest part of the evening was I finally noticed the Bathtub dessert. For $1500, yes $1500, they will come to your house and fill up your bathtub with your favorite Growler's Pub dessert and covered in toppings. Jeff ordered it, but then the girl just gave him a weird look. Ha. I guess if we were having a big house party, an entire garden tub full of Cinnamon Apple Nachos may be worth it!
