Whoo hoo it's Co-op Produce Day!

I told you a while back about my experience with a Produce Co-Op. Well, after being so happy with round 1, I went for round 2! A little later than I wanted to, but we had vacation and stuff going on. This time, I opted to get a few more goodies that are more than the usual bunch.

If you don't remember the premise, for $23, you get a big assortment of fruits and veggies. Everything is very fresh (the bananas are super green) and ladies, you may need assistance putting everything in your car! The cool thing is every 2 weeks you can place your order and then go pick up close to your area. Check out the website for details near you. We could probably split this with another family, but the savings are still fantastic. Here is what in this weeks lot:

2 heads lettuce - I think Romaine
2 Zucchini
6 Cucumbers
Bunch of Bananas
1 Eggplant
1 Head Cauliflower
12 Apples
3 Pomegranates
1 Pineapple
A Bag of Oranges and Red and Green Apples
6 Big Sweet Potatoes - maybe I'll make chips!

In addition to all of that, I also tried a few of their extra items. You can get anything you want and it's a great deal! I got the lemon and lime pack - only $2.35 and then I also go Sun-Dried Tomato Tortillas and Fresh Tri-colored chips. There is a local company that makes these fresh. They are so much cheaper than the grocery store. I'll report back with the tastiness.  If anyone has a good recipe to use eggplant, let me know. I'm thinking Eggplant Parm - but I had a hubby turn his nose up.

I'm also thinking about making Cauliflower Faux mashed potatoes like they to at Houlihan's. We'll see since hubs HATES Cauliflower! Sneaky sneaky!

The Outta Control Magic Comedy Dinner Show

Jeff didn't really have a preference on things we wanted to do in Florida. The night before we left, he looked up things to do in Orlando. He found the Outta Control Magic Comedy Dinner Show at the Wonder Works. He got really excited about it, so I said, let's go for it.

Jeff loves live comedy and magic, so this was a great choice for him. The dinner show had all you can eat and drink. Sounded good to everyone. They had all you can eat pizza.  The Comedian was Tony Brent. He was hilarious and kinda reminded me of Paul Rudd but a hippie. It was a really interactive show and I was so impressed by the magic. Then my lovely husband would say, "Wanna know how he did that?" GRRR.

Unlimited Pizza - it was NY Style - YUMMY!

He was signing a hippie song

I don't remember what he did here, but I think there was an empty bag and then an egg appeared. It was pretty cool.

This was the last scene and they sang I Got Your Babe, and it was hilarious. The guy in the blue shirt was wearing a mask that was operated by Brent.

It was fabulous! I would highly recommended it for anyone going to Orlando.

Medieval Times!

On Halloween Night, Mom, Steve, Jeff and I headed over to Medieval Times for an evening full of dueling knights and eating with your hands. Mom had gotten some upgraded package so we got to sit front row for the occasion. Everyone had to wear a fancy crown and play the role. The gist of the night is the attendees are broken down by the 6 knights in the show. We had the blue knight.

Me attempting to hold the knight in my hand - unsuccessful.

Tomato Soup and Garlic Bread. Pretty sure they didn't eat garlic bread back in the day.

A little jousting.

2nd course -1/2 a chicken!
We also got ribs, and a potato. You had to eat everything with your hands, not my idea of fun because everything was HOT!

They had a fancy horse show, I don't think this horse was too happy to be prancing around though.

At the end the prince regained the kingdom and all was good with the world.

Sorry, if I spoiled it for you if you're going anytime soon!

My Trip to Ikea!

(Yes, umbrellas inside are a bad idea, but I bought the umbrella)

Well, we're back from Florida? Miss me?? Thought so! Well, we started out last Saturday driving the 17 hours to Orlando. It was lovely. Jeff said if we could drive 17 hours together, then we were meant to be. Ha, a little late! When we got there on Sunday morning, Jeff just wanted to watch football as did my Step-Dad, so it was okay. Mom mentioned Ikea. I kinda perked up, since I had never been before. So, we loaded up the car and headed out to explore. The place is HUGE!  The concept is upstairs is the showroom with all of their items put together in compact room settings, then downstairs everything was separated out by category.

So, we walked the showroom checking things out. Everything is very reasonably priced, so I just kinda started throwing stuff in. No good! Jeff had given me a stern look of  'Don't spent too much'. I don't like that look.

(How cool is this picture? It was plates, bowls, and cups and utensils all hanging from the ceiling)

But when we got to the check out counter, what I thought was a big chunk of change turned out too be pretty good. I was proud of myself! I had gotten a few things that I had never seen before, and I got 6 frames in all sizes to make a wall collage. I've been scouring Etsy for creative art work, and I think I may have found the perfect outlet for it.

(Me and Mom in the elevator)

On our way out, we got these bad boys. My mom said they were amazing. So we brought some home for the guys. I didn't have one, but Jeff ate mine and said they were deelish!

I'm so glad they don't have an Ikea in St. Louis, I'd be super broke like a joke. I was almost tempted to take Jeff back for a round 2 to show him how cool it was.  Overall, A+ AWESOME!
