On the Quest for the Perfect Bag

It's funny how your taste in things changes over time. I remember when I was first introduced to Coach, my Dad had a friend who worked at the outlet in Florida, and I turned my nose up because I only wanted a purse with the signature C's on it. I ended up getting a little purse, but upset that I couldn't get the C's in my price range. Heck, I was in high school, so $25 was expensive for a purse for me.

Now, I steer so far away from the graphic pattern, it's not even funny. At some point, my taste transitioned into solid leathers and patent leathers and put pops of color with sashes and scarves. I'd say more patent leather than anything. I love that shiny look and I thin it's a little more classic and should last longer if taken care of.

Last year, I got the purple patent Coach. Maybe it was 2 years ago. I don't remember. I haven't made a large purse purchase in quite a while. Jeff won't let me get another Louis Vuitton as long as I live, but he's okay with Coach and Kate Spade and Marc Jacobs. Go figure.

Fast Forward to Tuesday night. Hubs was getting on my last never with not feeling good. I know I shouldn't say that, but it's true. So, I get an email from Kate Spade.  25% off Sale and FREE SHIPPING! Um, deal! I always go check it out because I also collect her idiom bangles. So, I go from page to page thinking I didn't need anything until our eyes met. Meribel.

It's the perfect combo of black and brown. It came in the mail yesterday, and she's gorgeous. Hubs was okay with it. It was the last of my birthday money. This can really go with anything because of that color combo. It fits my Kindle, day planner, coupons, my enormous wallet and everything else I need daily.

Do you have a favorite jumbo bag that is perfect with everything??

Answer: Steer Clear of your Husband!

Well, I finally got sick yesterday. Jeff has been sick since Sunday. He started out coughing, which isn't abnormal. But then it got worse. Monday, he was off work (lucky duck) and decided to lay around the house. Then Tuesday hit. He didn't go to work. In the 6 years we've been together, he's called in sick to work less than 3 times and 1 of the was a massive hangover. Wednesday hit, and he still stayed home. On Tuesday he went to the doctor and said it was a virus, and you could just treat the symptoms. Great. So, Dr. Jen to the rescue.  Mucinex, Cough Drops, Ginger Ale, Aleve to reduce fever and then cough syrup with Codine.  Does anyone else's husband resort to the behavior of a whiny 5 year old when they are sick?
I couldn't get out of the house faster.

Then Wednesday morning, it hit. I was sitting at my desk and a wave of heat & cold came over me. Crap. I was getting sick! Noo! I have too much going on AND I have to finish my trimester review and I had 2 a mandatory training session on Thursday. So, I was sent home yesterday afternoon.

Riley and I crawled in bed and I slept from 2-6 until Jeff woke me up so I'd sleep at night. Riley knows when her mommy is sick and she gets exceptionally snuggly which I love. So today, I woke up still with the awful headache and nausea and fever. I stayed home. I stayed in bed till 11 after suffering through the last hour of the Today Show with Hoda and Kathie Lee. Then I moved to the couch.

And that's where I've been all day. I did go get the mail. The highlight of the day. Apparently this nastiness has been going around for a while and it's just slowly hitting everyone. I'm going back to work tomorrow, because I have lots of stuff to do and my review is due at noon.

Anyone suffering with this awful cold/flu/gunk?

My Latest Addiction

Around them middle of December, I found an amazing facebook page. Re-Lilly. I've always been a big fan of Lilly Pulitzer but I could never really afford to purchase anything. I would go to Off the 5th at Miromar Outlet in FL and I got a halter and then I ruined it after one wash. Then I was too big to fit into anything.  Now, I'm back into the right size range, AND ready to conquer 2011. I had heard about their annual warehouse sale and thought that was the only way I could get a deal, until now.

So, after doing extensive research, I came across Re-Lilly and it's a resale facebook page and a one stop shop for all things discounted Lilly. I've been in heaven. So much so, that I've gone a little crazy, but I've saved so much so it's been A-OK! It really pays to have the inside scoop. Here are some of the super cute things I've gotten in the mail!

this one came today. I've been searching for it for quite a while. My dad got it for my for my birthday - Thanks Dad!

Murfee Scarf in Booty Caw

I got a few other things too, including a skirt, another dress and a vest for running. I think I'm done for a while, but I was really able to stretch my buck utilizing all the Via Shop (all probably less than  $300), which I'm now learning which ones have the best deals - some even 70% off! Deal!

Jeff and I have a deal that once I finish my 1/2 Marathon, I can go to the King of Prussia and go to the Warehouse sale. My grandma lives 4 hours away, so I can take her with me. She'll love it. She doesn't know it yet, but she'll love it!  Does anyone else have a Lilly Addiction like I do? It's not really a midwest thing. I became quite addicted to it when I would go to Florida 3-4 times a year. I really think we should move to Florida, I think it's my calling!

New Years Eve - Saying Adios to 2010

Happy New Years my Blogger Lovelies! Friday night, as I blogged about the other day, I headed out to the St. Louis Blues NYE Bash with quite the group of amazing people! I went with Alyssa, Cecelia and their hubbies, Jeff, his cousin Marcy and her husband Joey and then we had a late minute addition of Angie and her husband. It was a great time! The section sold out, so they ended up putting us in a party box. Nice cushy seats and a private bathroom. Good times!

We Won - Score 4-3 - Did someone say FREE Big Macs??

Cecelia & Dan in line

At that point, it got a little crazy. It was VERY crowded and we lost the whole group. So, Jeff, Joey, Marcy and I stood in the food line to pig out. I was starving. I hadn't eaten dinner so waiting till 10:30, was just too much! They had all kinds of goodies. Nacho Bar, Sliders, Crab Rangoon, the works. They also had chocolate ravioli - that were pretty interesting.

They also had a Slinger Bar - Joey was the only one to brave the goodness. It was hash browns, a burger patty, then covered with chili, a friend egg, cheese and onions. If I wasn't at a party, it would have been good, but noo thank you for late night yumminess.

Finally caught a tweet from Cecelia and I met up with the other group!

We got sassy hats. Jeff thought he was a gangster. He didn't get the memo, that he's not.

This is a photo we do every year. I love taking a photo of our first kiss. 7 years and going strong!

Hope you had a fantastic New Years Eve and 2011 will be the best one yet!
