Home Brew Sunday!

On Sunday, I wasn't able to eat because I was having a procedure done on Monday which caused me to not be able to eat for about 36 hours. It sucked. Originally, I was supposed to go to the St. Louis Ladies Lunch at the Fountain, but sadly, I don't think I had the willpower to not eat any of the delicious ice cream martinis! To make up for it, hubs is going to take me on Sunday after we see Stomp at the Fox! Yes!

Anyway, in lieu of hanging out with some of my favorite ladies, I hung out with my favorite cousin, Marcy and her husband Joey. Well, technically, she's Jeff's cousin, but we get along swimmingly! Jeff and Joey are very similar as are Marcy and I so when we get together it's quite a good time! Joey is a home brewer and Jeff loves beer. So, we all decided to come over, enjoy a little brew and eat some ribs. Or in my case, smell ribs.

My Hubby Meister. Isn't he a cutie?

The Home Brew.

It had wheels. It was definitely a home set up. It was pretty cool to watch but I'm sure AB isn't even close to this!

Dumping the new brew in the Ale Pail.

Me and Marcy.  Joey made this amazing Hard Cider that I had a little bit of. It was absolutely deelish!

And I couldn't forget Jesse James and Flash! They had a fun afternoon too!

Happy Anniversary - The Dinner!

Saturday night, hubs and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary. It was on Tuesday, but we had agreed that going to the Newcomers Dinner our new church was something that we really wanted to do. So, we agreed that we'd try somewhere different. I went to Twitter for suggestions and someone suggested the Tenderloin Room. Now if you haven't been there, you need to. Warning, it's pretty pricey. The funny thing was I had gotten an email later that week that the Foodie STL deck had a restaurant close, and now that coupon could be used the Tenderloin room. It covered my glass of wine.

So Saturday morning, I went out looking for the perfect dress. I had found one and loved it. AND I got my eyebrows threaded - I looked like a wilder beast! I wore these super cute magenta pumps to offset the black and white. Hubs took this photo for me. I also wore my key necklace he got me from Tiffany's last year. He likes that kind of thing.

Isn't he just adorable? He changed twice.

Onto dinner.
Their specialty for 45 years, is the Pepperloin a la Tenderloin. Then once your entrĂ©e comes out, they bring a pot of Cognac and Dijon sauce over the tenderloin.  Holy goodness was it good. It was just like how my Great Grandmother, Muzzy, made. It was nice because I got to tell Jeff the story about her and our trips to Kingsport, TN. It was a really special moment for me.

Onto dessert. Because it was my "Last Supper" I went all out with the meal. I had the Cheesecake with Raspberry sauce. That was yummy too! Overall, it was REALLY yummy. We ended up sitting next to a table of 20+ guys which we estimated had to about about a $2000 table. Quite the bachelor party! They were really loud! But dinner was nice. Every anniversary we talk about our 3 favorite moments or highlights of the year and what we look forward to in the next year. His was eating at Annie Gunn's for his Birthday, so I'm not sure how seriously he takes it. But we had a nice time.

Then, I asked the waiter to take our photo. I have one from every anniversary dinner we've been to.

All around great start to year #3!
