Giveaway - Bare Minerals Skincare Collection!

My first giveaway on Casa De Cowan!!! Bare Minerals is giving me a great opportunity to share with both blog families!

I am a beauty junkie. I just can't get enough beauty products. A few year ago I was introduced to Bare Minerals from my gal pal Crystal and I've never looked back. Recently, Bare Minerals came out with a new line of skincare. Excellent! I was contacted to give it a whirl and see how I liked it. Easy enough!

I received the package in the mail a week ago, and I've been using the Deep Cleansing Foam every day. It takes off everything including stubborn mascara. It leaves your skin feeling clean without stripping it of all the moisture. I also received a Purely Nourishing Moisturizer too, which doesn't have an overpowering smell. That's one thing that I'm overly concerned about. I don't want to smell funky. It has nice coverage, blends well and eliminated the dry parts of my skin. The technology behind this new skincare line is a patent-pending RareMinerals ActiveSoil Complex (which has three times the antioxidant capacity of blueberries!)

Cash Cowan and Bare Minerals have teamed up to offer a prize pack that includes 1 Deep Cleansing Foam and 1 Purely Nourishing Moisturizers.

Want to win? Here's How:

1st entry (Mandatory) -  What is your #1 Beauty Must Have?
2nd entry -Follow me on Twitter
3rd entry - Follow my Blog!

If you have already completed any of these - leave a comment for each one you've completed to win!

Contest Ends April 6th. Winner announced April 7th!

Bare Minerals provided me with the information and giveaway. I was given a prize pack, however, this did not alter my personal views on Bare Minerals.

My Sunday Post 5K!

After the 5K, I was exhausted. Maggie, Alyssa and I ended up going to Steak 'n Shake for breakfast. Then I headed home. By the time I got home, Angie was posting photos and twitter was blowing up about everyone races. I was excited to read how everyone did, but I knew I had about 90 minutes to get ready to meet up with Jeff's Mom and Step Dad.  I told myself I was going to take a 45 minute nap, and I ended up watching Chopped. I can watch an episode, even though I've seen it before, and forget what happened. It boggles my mind!

Then at noon, Jeff came in and told me to get up, since I asked him to. I had 30 minutes to get gorgeous for our afternoon at the Fox to see Stomp! I had been saving my new Lilly top for the occasion.  Once we got to The Fox, we had Bob take a photo from us only to be yelled at by the usher. Apparently, no photos in the Fox at any time! Oops! At least, we got a good one! Love this photo! Stomp was pretty amazing. It was really good, and really funny! I could have done without the excessive audience participation, but it was pretty good.

Then after the show, we went to The Fountain On Locust.  I really enjoyed it. I had been dying to go there, and wasn't able to go last weekend with the girls for the Ladies Lunch.

I had the Royal Grille with the St. Louis Salad. This is one serious grilled cheese. Cheddar, Mozzarella and Fuji Apples. YUM-O!

Then onto dessert, it was a Double Scoop Hot Fudge Sundae. It was to die for!

Then, I came home and laid on a heating pad all night. I finally had to cave and take a muscle relaxer this morning, I couldn't sit up straight. It's all good, because I'm a 5Ker and I'm lovin' life!

My First 5K!

"One of the greatest discoveries a man makes, one of his great surprises, is to find he can do what he was afraid he couldn't do." -Henry Ford

I did it. I ran(ish) my first 5k! For the record, I'm not a runner. But I know to get where I need to be, I need to become runner-ish. Alyssa encouraged me to do the RSC 5K a few weeks ago in preparation for my 1/2 Marathon in June. Now, I'm not running most of that 1/2 marathon, but I'm going to be power walking.

So, yesterday with the snow, I was worried that it would make for a not so pleasant 5K today. I was right. Last night Jeff and I went out in the snow to get me some running gloves and a hat. I had a $10 gift card to Dick's Sporting Goods and ended up having all their winter stuff 75% off the lowest sticker price! So, I got 2 Under Armour Hats AND Reebok running gloves all for $9.97. I knew it was a sign I was supposed to run snow or shine.

Fast forward to this morning. I had on 2 shirts and 2 jackets and yoga pants. I was ready. When I got to the parking lot of RSC I cried. Yea, don't ask me why. Maybe because I'm stepping out of my comfort zone or what I don't know! Anyway, onto photos!

Me and Angie Pre Race

Close Up - I was cold! I had on 2 T-shirts, my light weight cotton track jacket and my North Face Fleece.

Maggie, Me & Alyssa

I had already finished, and Alyssa met up with Maggie and Angie.

We did it! My official time was 46:08. My personal goal for myself was 45. Alyssa said I'm on track for Hospital Hill, I just need to keep working out and building up endurance. But you gotta start somewhere right? Oh, and did I mention it was ICY! Insanely ICY. At one point I slipped and tweaked my back, so I've not been feeling the best all day now. But, I had to walk because I was afraid I was going to bust it!

And before I end this post, I have to tell you how amazing Alyssa is. She's been the best workout partner EVER! I've never felt so pushed in my life and she's so nice about it! When we're done with Hospital Hill, I'm treating her to a steak dinner or something fabulous. Today, she encouraged me to pushing myself and keep going. I'll get there, but she has been a huge inspiration! If she can do it, I can do it too! Each week she comes up with workouts to do and I feel like such a slacker pants, but at the end, I feel so much better because of it. So if I don't thank you enough, thank you Alyssa for kicking my booty and getting me prepped for Hospital Hill!
