World Series Game 4 ( Rain Out Game)
I've seen a couple other blogs comment about the last time we went to all the way in 2006. Since I wasn't hard core blogging back then, I thought I'd share our experience because it was one of the coolest things I have ever done. It's one of those memories that I can remember every since moment of it.
So, when the Card's won in '06, I asked my boyfriend (haha) at the time if the Card's went to the World Series would he want to go to the game. He said no because it would be WAY too expensive. Did I listen? Hell to the no. So, I was selected from the lottery to purchase tickets. By the time I made my way through the purchasing website, the only thing left was Standing Room Only (SRO). AND on top of that they were $50. I bought 2. And then kept my mouth shut for as long as I could. They were game 4.
When I finally told Jeff that I got them. He was not happy, but later he told me it was one of the coolest things I have ever done. We went out and bought us warm up jackets because it was so stinking cold out that day. With the rain and the cold, I don't think I could feel my toes.

Fast forward to Game 4. It got rained out. We stayed at that ballpark all night until they finally called the game. Then somehow they mixed up the games, and game 5 was then played first in for people who had tickets, so we ended up coming back to see the winning game! It was amazing. I have never seen energy from a city like that before. Electrifying. We ended up standing on risers at the top of the ball park so we could see everything. There was confetti, security guards, everything. Pure awesomeness.
Our Man Cave is Cardinals themed, and I have these 2 photos framed on the wall. It's one of my all time favorite photos of Jeff, pure excitement.
So, that my friends is my 2006 Cardinals World Series Adventure. I put myself in the lottery for tickets this year again. We'll see what happens. It could be 11 in 2011!
