It's Postseason Play for St. Louis!

World Series Game 4 ( Rain Out Game)

So, if you didn't stay up all hours of the night on this week praying for Atlanta to lose and Houston to lose so that the Cardinals could get into the playoff, well you are one of very few in my area. To be honest, I has absolutely no hope that they would make it. I was just thrilled that they signed my baseball boyfriend, Lance Berkman, to another 1 year deal. He is the reason why we are going to the playoffs after all (in my opinion).

I've seen a couple other blogs comment about the last time we went to all the way in 2006. Since I wasn't hard core blogging back then, I thought I'd share our experience because it was one of the coolest things I have ever done. It's one of those memories that I can remember every since moment of it.

So, when the Card's won in '06, I asked my boyfriend (haha) at the time if the Card's went to the World Series would he want to go to the game. He said no because it would be WAY too expensive. Did I listen? Hell to the no. So, I was selected from the lottery to purchase tickets. By the time I made my way through the purchasing website, the only thing left was Standing Room Only (SRO). AND on top of that they were $50. I bought 2. And then kept my mouth shut for as long as I could. They were game 4.

When I finally told Jeff that I got them. He was not happy, but later he told me it was one of the coolest things I have ever done. We went out and bought us warm up jackets because it was so stinking cold out that day. With the rain and the cold, I don't think I could feel my toes.

Fast forward to Game 4. It got rained out. We stayed at that ballpark all night until they finally called the game. Then somehow they mixed up the games, and game 5 was then played first in for people who had tickets, so we ended up coming back to see the winning game! It was amazing. I have never seen energy from a city like that before. Electrifying.  We ended up standing on risers at the top of the ball park so we could see everything. There was confetti, security guards, everything. Pure awesomeness.

Our Man Cave is Cardinals themed, and I have these 2 photos framed on the wall. It's one of my all time favorite photos of Jeff, pure excitement.

So, that my friends is my 2006 Cardinals World Series Adventure. I put myself in the lottery for tickets this year again. We'll see what happens. It could be 11 in 2011!

A Trip to the Grafton Winery!

So, you may be starting to see a trend here with wine, me and Marcy. It happens. I guess the upside if I have someone who will drink wine with me because my dear husband will not. So, couple of weekends ago, all 4 of us (Marcy, Joey, Jeff and I) all decided to try something new. I had heard such good things about the Grafton Winery & Brewhaus that I figured we just had to make the trip. I did a Yelp review, if you want to check that out.

They have a free wine tasting. We opted for a Chardonnay and the Apple Crisp. The Apple Crisp is a little sweet for drinking on a regular basis, but it was a nice refreshing treat on a gorgeous day. They have a huge patio that overlooks the Mississippi River and there was a band.

Near the end the guys wanted to leave and so we made these fancy cups to take with us.

Isn't he adorable?

And while I was there, I was so excited to run into Della! She was celebrating with some other friends, but I was so glad to run into her!

On our way out of Grafton, we stopped at the Country Fudge shop. Because no trip is complete without fudge.

So the verdict on the Grafton Winery? A must go to place! Everyone always goes to Hermann and Augusta for wine, so this was a nice change of pace to doing something a little different.

Jammin' at the Zoo & Stingrays!

So back in August, my cousin Marcy had asked me to go to Jammin' at the Zoo with her. I said, sure why not. It was hotter than you know what. So the idea behind this event is it's a big wine tasting. I like wine. I like wine probably a little too much, but Marcy likes it even more than me.

I was super excited because Marcy had planned on getting tickets at the door, but I entered to win ticket through Metromix and won! Score! So, it was a free girls night out on the town.

So, we probably tried about 25 different wines. I took photos of the bottles that I enjoyed. They had the wine tasting station all around the zoo, so you got to hear some fun bands, see the animals and check out some new wines.

In addition to the wine tasting, they had the Stingrays at Caribbean Cove open for free. I think usually it's a couple of dollars, but I had never gone before. They make you wash your hands before you go in. Basically it is a shallow pool of stingrays and sharks. Now, I'm not one for creepy crawly things, so it was a miracle for me to b e that close. The big stingrays thought it was pretty cool and I think they figured out how to splash people. It was pretty funny.

Marcy had no problems touching them. You just put your hand in the water and they would brush up against you. They liked to be pet. Weird, huh?

And here is me. I'm absolutely freaking out here, because once the photo was taken a big one came up and brushed against me. Soo not my scene.

So, there you have it wine and stingrays. If you're in St. Louis, they have them twice in the summer. As a married gal hanging out with my cousin, it was a good time. But, I think it was young 20 somethings trying to pick up dudes. Thank God I don't have to deal with all that anymore. Whew!

One2One AMF Bowling Party!

So, earlier in the summer (I told you this was a while ago!) I was invited to the One2One Network's Bowling party. I thought it would be a great opportunity to meet other lady bloggers and have a good time. I asked Alyssa & Julie to see if they wanted to attend with me and Julie brought Ellen. Needless to say, we had a fantastic time! Here a few photos that we took during the evening.

I was super excited that I tweeted the entire night because I got to meet some lovely ladies including another Julie too! We now tweet all the time! She helped me confirm that I needed the most amazing top at Banana Republic today. Anyway, moving on...

Julie is ready to bowl!

As you can tell, I am a pro bowler. I got all my experience from Wii Bowler. Look at that form! I do have the glowing hot pink ball when I play. Let's just say, I'm not the best in real life bowler. I'll stick to Wii.

Julie & Ellen. Oh, did I mention it was all you could drink? But we were ladies and only had 1 cocktail.

Alyssa posting for the camera.

We ended up playing 2 round. My fingers always start to hurt after a few rounds, so this was the perfect amount of time.

Alyssa and I. For the record, I think we should have used heavier balls. I think an 8lb one was just not enough to get it down the lane.

So, there you have it a few fun photos from the evening. Big thanks to One2One Network for hosting such a fun event. I'm so happy to be apart of such a great network!

Casa De Cowan is Mooooving!

So the time has come. Casa De Cowan is moving and merging with it's big sister

The reason? Well, I have created a great brand with Cash Cowan. Not quite household known like Microsoft, but we'll get there. The original intent of this blog was to do my day to day life and Cash Cowan was coupons. Well, I've decided to keep life simple, I'm sticking with just 1 blog.

So, If you like following me, please check me out there. I have really enjoyed getting to know each and everyone of you I hope you'll consider visiting me!

Or, if you want check me out on Twitter and Facebook!

I look forward to seeing you on the other side!

Slowly But Surely...

So, I'm back. I haven't blogged in an eternity. Why? Well, I lost my camera charger and I had no idea where it went, so I figured my blog wouldn't be lovely without photos. So, over the next week, I will attempt to recreate the last few months of my life with photos. I've done lots of fun stuff, went lots of fun places. So, now I must share.

In addition to my lack of blogging. I've had a few changes go in my life. I'll have more definite answers in the next week or so, but for now just say a little prayer for me that everything will be A-OK.

Onto the winner for the blog - since, I only had 1 entrant (Alyssa), which makes sense since I haven't been around for a while, I need to check with Uprinting to see if I can still do the giveaway. I want to be fair to the sponsor, right?

But, in addition to my life and times, I have lots of cool reviews I need to do. So keep an eye out for these:

  • Clarisonic
  • Scrubbing Bubbles 1 Step Toilet Cleaner ( BTW this is UHH-Mazing!)
  • Cerra
  • Flip Flop Wines Moscato

So there you have it, I'm going to try to get back into the swing of things. Be patient. I'm not ready to get back on the wagon full force just yet.
