I Heart the $1 Bin at Target

Target has some smart marketing people. You walk in, and BOOM the Dollar Bin. I went in a few weeks ago and was quickly drawn into the cuteness that is the anchors! They also had coral and other seaside cuteness, but I didn't think it really went with the Midwest feel. I ended up getting some bags, tissue paper, note cards and gift tags.

Any good finds in your Target $1 Bin?

Birchbox - June

It's Birchbox Time!

The box came the first day I was in Vegas and I almost had hubs tear into it. The problem is that everyone on Twitter posts about their boxes an you get super excited to see yours. Everyone had Cynthia Rowley Band-aids and I REALLY hoped that I gotten them. But I didn't.

Here is what it did come with though:

Overall, it wasn't my favorite box, but I'm excited about the Vita Soak. I've tried the Yu-Be before from Sephora and liked that.

What did you get in your Birchbox?

If you are interested in joining, it's $10 a month and you get all kinds of fun goodies! And who doesn't like getting mail?

Serendipity 3

The week before I left, my new boss told me that I had to get a Frozen Hot Chocolate at Serendipity 3. I had heard of them before as they were on Oprah's Favorite Things a few years ago. I told her I would try to check it out if I had time. When I arrived at the Flamingo, the first thing I saw was Serendipity 3! Then when I checked in, I was giving a coupon booklet, and it had a free Frozen Hot Chocolate with the purchase of an entree. It was fate.

After wandering around Caesar's Palace for a few hours, I was ready for some dinner and of course, a frozen hot chocolate.  I opted for a cheeseburger and fries. I couldn't eat the whole thing, but boy was it good.

Then it was show time! What I had come here for! Overall, it was the texture of a melted shake and a hot chocolate mix. It was pretty darn good. I couldn't finish the whole thing since it was so big. But it definitely do not dissapoint.

If you are looking to try one of these bad boys at home, you can order them online at Amazon! How cool is that? I think I'll definitely pick some so I can enjoy them at home year round!

Be sure to get your Frozen Hot Chocolatetoo!

Vegas, Baby!

The first day I started my new job, they asked me if I would go to Vegas 3 weeks later. I was super excited because 1) I had never been to Vegas and 2) it was the NACE conference. I was bummed that I was going by myself, but I made the most of it. I learned so much at the conference and I'm excited to take it back and implement a lot of great ideas.

While I was there I did get to visit a bit of the city. I visited the Forum Shops in Caesar's Palace. I got these super cute sandals in black at Kate Spade and the gal I talked to encouraged me to check out the Outlet Mall. So the next day after my workshops, I boarded a Las Vegas bus and headed north to the Premium Outlets. I ended up going to Tory Burch and got a Reva Clutch for a fantastic deal.

There were lots of fun street performers. This had to be my favorite one. I saw him a couple of times. There were lots of Jack Sparrows and Vegas Show Dancers, but man, he had to be hot in all of that. The temperature was over 100 every day!

My conference was at Paris, but since I was added late, I had to stay a few hotels down. I definitely learned that a block in Vegas mileage is not a block anywhere else. I left my pedometer at home, but I wish I hadn't.

I ended up staying at the Flamingo. It's definitely one of the older hotels on the strip, but I liked the older feel to it. Not a lot of amenities compared to other hotels, but it worked.

As I was leaving yesterday on the shuttle, we drove be Aria and they had this awesome sculpture of canoes. How cute is that?

So that was my trip. More photos to come tomorrow about my trip to Serendipity 3!
