Grand Opening of Eloquii at The Galleria

About a week back, I recieved an email to attend a blogger event at The Limited at the Galleria. I was super excited because they were launching their new plus size collection called Eloquii. I had recieved emails about the new brand, checked out the website, but without knowing their sizing, I had no idea what size to wear.

For me, I was a little saddened to hear that The Limited considers plus size a 14 and up. I think the average woman is a size 12 or 14. While, I've fit all sizes of the spectrum, I'm on the lower size of the plus size collection.

But putting my personal opinions aside, I headed out after work last Friday to see what I could find. I've been on the quest for black pants. I tried on their straight fit. According to their website, I would fall into the Tear Drop category.

So, I picked up multiple sizes, multiple fits and went to town. I struck out on pants as I believe I was more in the curvy category for the black pants. I don't think they had the entire collection out yet. I did hit a homerun with a wide-waistband black pencil skirt. Super cute. I paired it with cute strappy sandals and a silky poppy top from NY&Co on Monday. I also picked up a pair of jeans too. They were thin, but not too thin and they had a lot of good stretch to them.

The problem is going from a standard 16-18 to a 16-18W is completely different. It's like you add an extra half size with the W. For someone who is teetering on the edge of that, but not really, the W doesn't make you feel good. Luckily, I was able to size down on all of my items. Whew.

I checked out the website before I came and I fell in love with this striped skirt. They had it on a mannequin, but didn't have it on the floor yet. Totally bummed.

Totally bummed, yet I came home and ordered it online. Still on pre-order, but it will be mine VERY soon. A big thank you to The Limited, and Eloquii for inviting me to the event. I've always been a fan of The Limited, so I am excited I have an option for pants and skirts!  In full disclosure, The Limited/Eloquii  provided me with a $50 gift card for coming to the event. They also provided me with an additional $50 gift card that I will be hosting a giveway starting this weekend!  In no way did the gift cards influence my opinions of the Limited Brand. I've been a fan for year and I'm thrilled they are branching out to a wider range of women!

New Shopping Site: vente-privee

If you're a hard core shopper like me, you can't pass up a deal. I would imagine that your email and apps on your iPad are dedicated to all of the daily deal and limited quantity showrooms that you are racing to try to get a good deal and then patiently wait for UPS to show up. Been there? Me too!

Well, let's add one more to the mix. Enter vente-privee. This also has those big name hitters. Today my mini showrooms include Trina Turk (love), Elie Tahari (double love), and Calvin Klein.

I really like how the showrooms are set up, because you get a solid front photo and a back photo. I hate buying dresses online and I don't know what the back looks like. The prices are up to 70% off the retail prices.

I'm on the quest for a dress now for my annual gala in October, and I think some of these may just do the trick! Of course this long maxi will be fantastic for our 5 year anniversary cruise in March!

So are you convinced? Love the photos of the dresses? Me too. Then definitely check out vente-privee. It's very well laid out, high designer dresses for fractions of the cost. I'd say $100 could be fairly afforable compared to $400+ price tags!

I was asked to review the vente-privee website in exchange for a scarf from the website. All opinions are my own. In no way did vente-prive influcence my opinions of the website.
